| It Dawned On Me Then |
I was walking down the road through the woods by my house thinking of the load and how sometimes I'm a louse and it dawned on me then as a crow flew above my head that life could be a friend or I could easily be dead ain't it funny how we are on days that seem not so good and we think loves away so far and luck needs a knock on wood and ain't it funny how we cry when all seems so damn lost a little love will answer the why's and ease the pain of some of the cost Well I sat on an old log and thought it over awhile noticed in the ravine sat a frog and wondered why he wore a smile and it dawned on me then as a fly sat down on my knee it wasn't about back when and it was never about me ain't it funny how we are on days that seem not so good and we think loves away so far and luck needs a knock on wood and ain't it funny how we cry when all seems so damn lost a little love will answer the why's and ease the pain of some of the cost So I got up and headed home to the girls and dogs I love and off to the side noticed some bones and wondered what animal they were of and it dawned on me then how strangely harsh life can be and how senseless it is to not bend unless you really need some misery ain't it funny how we are on days that seem not so good and we think loves away so far and luck needs a knock on wood and ain't it funny how we cry when all seems so damn lost a little love will answer the why's and ease the pain of some of the cost Erik Tyme 10-11-2000 |
