That Fateful Day

I came alive one day, in a field all alone
on the edge of the woods, near where I called home
A breeze caressed my face, as a tear fell from my eye
and my heart yearned loud, for reasons I denided
and dreams swept across, my blue colored mind
on that fateful day, when I was all I could find

Clouds moved swiftly, across a sun drenched sky
on a morning of wishes, as two crows flew by
the warmth on my face, grew cold with the shade
and hunger filled my soul, as the sunrise fade
Memories were all, I had left to hold near
on that fateful day, when I learned I could fear

I remember it was then, standing there tall with doubt
as a shiver cross my skin, I learned I was not without
and a scent softly found, passage to within me
as my world became clear, with purpose and destiny
the adventure laid ahead, covered in light
on that fateful day, when I finally gained my sight.

I came alive one day, in a field all alone
on the edge of the woods, near where I called home
a breeze caressed my face, as a I softly let out a sigh
and my heart filled with warmth, while wonder filled my eyes
and dreams swept across, my eager to learn mind
on that fateful day, when I set out to see what I could find
